Our Outreach Team have been working with homeless individuals and rough sleepers for a little over 6 weeks now and have already delivered help and advice, but more needs to be achieved.  Their working night commences at 10pm  and they work throughout the borough until 6am in the morning, regardless of weather conditions.  This is one many pro-active schemes in the country that tackles the growing homelessness crisis.  Our team is made up of Jason, Alya and Heather  and we are supported by  CGL outreach team..  From Wirral Borough Council’s initial bid, funding has been secured from Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government.

The team completed their training at YMCA Wirral yesterday and we are actively promoting help from the wider community.  We are tackling a growing crisis that affects everyone living in Wirral and we would love borough wide support.

You can help if are aware of someone sleeping rough or you see an individual that you believe to be homeless Please contact us and a member of our team will follow up.   We just need to know  the  location of the individual – which you can even tell us anonymously should you wish.  Contacting us is easy and takes just a few seconds

Our outreach team will follow up any report we receive and meet with each individual. Working with a number of services locally, we can deliver practical help, advice and as well as signposting to the services that can potentially provide a safe and warm environment, including our own night shelter, which last year provided almost 5,000 bed nights to rough sleepers.  We can provide ongoing support that leads to long term sustainable accommodation.   With winter rapidly approaching, to reduce the shocking number of people that fall victim to sub zero temperatures, we need to look to you to help us to help.

Please share this post and contact us.  A simple text, email or phone call will make a huge difference and together we will save lives.” ty46 \lsdloc
