Dance Movement Therapy with Jennifer Vogtle
Published
Thursdays, 11:00 onwards – June
Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) is a type of therapy that uses movement to help people feel better emotionally and mentally. You don’t need to “dance” or be good at dancing. You move in whatever way feels natural, and the therapist supports you to notice what your body is saying.
What it helps with:
- Stress and anxiety
- Low mood
- Trauma
- Body tension
- Feeling disconnected or overwhelmed
Why movement?
Sometimes feelings are hard to put into words. The body can hold memories, stress, and emotions. Moving can help release them, understand them, or make them easier to manage.
What is a session like?
- You might sit, stand, stretch, or move gently
- You can talk if you want, or stay quiet
- The therapist follows your pace
- No steps, no routines, no pressure
In short – DMP helps you connect with your body, understand your emotions, and feel more grounded through simple, natural movement.
